Do you know ...
• where Ogopogo goes when it snows?
• who invented basketball?
• what happened to the Mary Celeste?
The Canadian Children's Annual can tell you!
Originally a series of 11 books, The Canadian Children's Annuals were published by Ontario-based Potlatch Publications from 1975 to 1985. Publisher Robert Nielsen's vision was to create a made-in-Canada version of the Boy's Own and Girl's Own books so popular in Britain at the beginning of the 20th century.
PLEASE NOTE: As of March 2016, the 1984 issue (Canadian Children's Annual 10th Anniversary Edition) is SOLD OUT. We are therefore no longer able to supply a full set containing all 11 issues.
All the Annuals contain a high proportion of Canadian stories, facts and history, written by Canadian authors and including colour illustrations by Canadian artists. Each year, the Annual featured an original artwork on the cover that was created by a Canadian artist.
Every issue is a new adventure featuring:
• fiction
• non-fiction articles
• poetry
• science activities
• riddles, quizzes, and word games
• crafts
• ...and much more.
The stories, articles and poetry cover a variety of writing styles that both engage and challenge the reader. Each Annual contains over 160 pages of information, interesting reading, and good old-fashioned fun!
For kids ages 9 and up.
Truly a Canadian classic to be passed on from generation to generation!
